There was a season during COVID where something shifted for me.
What started as slowing down slowly turned into standing still. And before I knew it, what I thought was taking care of myself had started to look more like getting stuck.
I remember thinking, Okay, this isn’t balance anymore.
This is rust.
Rust doesn’t show up all at once. It builds quietly when movement stops. And the tricky part is, once it’s there, it’s not impossible to shake off, but it does take more effort.
That’s the season I found myself in.
I realized I needed to move again. To challenge myself. To do something, not to chase productivity, but to keep from hardening in place.
Now, I’m in a season of knocking the rust off. Rebuilding momentum. I’m relearning what movement looks like for me, at my pace.
From where I sit, growth isn’t just about knowing when to slow down. It’s also about recognizing when it’s time to get back in motion, before stillness turns into something heavier.
